preface: who we are and what we do

The IDH's story begins when Dr. McKain crosses the filter bubble and becomes a 'disinformation diversity hire' at a Bible College....

...that ends up at the epicenter of post-digital civic collapse during a pandemic (#minneapolis) and while we are trying to re-scale (and then save) the last bipartisan "Manhattan Project" left standing.

(The 3 minute video above you.)

and then it gets Black Mirror bananas

because right now even the AI thinks we're the last Manhattan Project standing.

And then it gets Black Mirror meets Fear and Loathing meets Civil War bananas.

Because for twenty years, Dr. McKain has ben leading teams of interdisciplinary (misfit) Oppenheimers

-- dozens of top world experts (plus hundreds of volunteer lawyers, students, advocates, lawmakers, artists, and citizens) --

on a very particular AIDisinformationPrivacy, and Free Speech "Manhattan Project" that is now proven (multiple times) to do five necessary and difficult things that no one else seems able to do.

and the Black Mirror meets Dead Poet's Society story of how we pulled it off -- bullets, NDAs, embargoes with a Hunter Thompson leading a pack of Jesus Goonies during a preview of digital civil war -- is bananas

THE IDH STORY: #BURSTTHEBUBBLE

chap 1: disinformation & digital division

Nothing encapsulates the IDH's capabilities in disinformation war better than the pandemic.

We are survivors of post-digital civic collapse.

This movie is not survivable on a national scale.

We were originally located a couple miles from Floyd Square. Our host school -- and IDH students -- held the Floyd memorial, making international headlines.

On the ground -- until our school's evacuation a year later during the Chauvin verdict -- our city/lives were chaotic.

Here's a glimpse of what a couple dozen kids, handful of experts, and hundreds of volunteers and artists did to keep people safe/sane. #Minneapolis

IDH STORY: NEIGHBORSNOTNUMBERS

chapter two: ai and algorithms

employment ai / medical ai / housing ai / predictive policing / social credit scores / facial rec

IDH STORY: STOPACTINGLIKEROBOTS

chapter three: free speech vs. hate speech

Since everything the IDH does is rooted in the First Amendment and free speech

(literally: every class, talk, paper, and civic initiative)

it's hard to separate this one out.
